Valentine’s Day is approaching quicker than anyone is willing to admit. Hopefully you and your significant other have some special plans (or surprises) in the works for each other. We at Southern Colorado Insurance Center want to give you some tips to avoid any disasters or accidents from being the surprise on the day you share together.
If you are planning on taking a short get-away for the weekend (after all February 14th falls on a Friday this year!), remember to:
Pack necessary things like sunscreen, necessary medications, bug spray, and all forms of ID you will need.
Remember that although you are away, the germs are not! Wash your hands often and keep a travel size bottle of hand sanitizer with you just in case.
Remember that your house is staying behind. Make sure you have disconnected any unnecessary wires from outlets to avoid fire danger, make sure all of your pipes are not leaking before you leave, double-check that the doors are locked behind you and valuables are locked or hidden away.
If you are planning on staying home for the holiday, there are still some things to remember:
Be Safe! Never drink and drive, always wear your seatbelt and make sure you take the necessary precautions if trying some new (dangerous) activity. According to the Center for Disease Control, Many accidents occur because of spontaneous decisions to try something new together without acquiring the necessary safety equipment or taking the necessary precautions.
Watch the amount of bubbly you drink. Champagne can have an especially strong effect on some people, so watch your limit.
If you are going on a first date or just taking the one you love out for a fun night, but have no idea where to go or what to do, take a look at http://www.livelifelocal.com/ and search the Colorado Springs area! LiveLifeLocal offers many ideas on attractions and things to do in the area, or other areas if you’re looking to get away.
